NBA

The NBA, or National Basketball Association, is a professional basketball league in North America. It is widely regarded as one of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada and consists of 30 teams, divided into two conferences: the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. The league was founded in New York City on June 6, 1946, originally as the Basketball Association of America (BAA) before merging with the National Basketball League (NBL) in 1949 and being renamed the NBA.

The NBA is known for its high level of competition, star athletes, and significant cultural impact, particularly in basketball. It features an 82-game regular season followed by a playoff tournament to determine the league champion. The NBA also plays a significant role in globalizing basketball, with numerous international players and a worldwide fanbase. The league’s championship series, known as the NBA Finals, determines the champion and is highly anticipated each year.
